I qualified as a solicitor in 2003, I spent 16 years working alongside some of the best legal advisors in the area.
I am a Trustee and founder of the Russ Devereux Headlight Project which is a registered charity operating in the Tees Valley.
I received the Tees Business Women’s 'Inspiring Others' Award in recognition of my work towards mental health awareness for children and adults.
I was rated in the Legal 500 whilst working in private legal practice; as giving 'clear and unambiguous advice' and having 'excellent communication skills'.
I’m Catherine Devereux a qualified solicitor specialising in employment law and HR practice. As an individual passionate about all things people, I pride myself on providing sound, practical and commercial advice.
I worked in private legal practice for 16 years for the Endeavour Partnership LLP in the Tees Valley. At the and of 2017 I started my own consultancy to gain flexibility to bring up my family and to support my husband in our family’s haulage firm.
I assisted Teesside University in the running and overseeing of students in Teesside University Law Clinic which gave practical experience to students completing their law degree in providing legal advice to members of the public on a pro bono basis.
Through my consultancy I have worked with a large academy trust employing 500 staff and subsequently worked as the Trust’s Director of HR.

I served as governor at my local village primary school, having sat as chair for four years and am currently a member of the Tees Valley Education Trust.

The Headlight Project aims to reduce the numbers of suicides in our local area by supporting those bereaved by suicide with one to one counselling and various trauma therapies for adults and play therapy for children. and also by providing preventative education to schools, colleges and workplaces. In recognition of this, in 2019 I received the Tees Business Women’s Award for Inspiring Others.
